About Us,

A cottage story, told slowly and with both hands

A Life Made of Small, Beautiful Things

Welcome in. Truly. If you’ve found your way to this little corner of the internet, you’re probably someone who believes in the quiet power of paper, ritual, and stories that feel like home. My name is Ellie, and I live in a small lakeside town in Canada, in a storybook cottage where the kettle sings often and the seasons are treated like old friends.

For years, my life moved at a pace that left no room for wonder,  until I chose to step out of the rush and into something slower, gentler, and infinitely more true. Over the last few decades, I’ve gathered homemaking wisdom, creative rituals, and a deep love for the tactile world. All of it has become the foundation of A Postal Greeting.

What I Make Here

Wander a little further into the cottage and you’ll find shelves and nooks filled with small wonders, each one made or carefully gathered by my own hands. There are thrifted treasures that begged to be rescued, recipes tested until the kitchen smelled like a story, and creations shaped from my love of ink, paper, and gentle mischief. Everything here is chosen the way one might choose jewels for a beloved friend: slowly, delightedly, and with a spark of wonder. A cozy corner where letters like to gather, but the whole cottage is alive with beautiful finds, warm tea, and the promise of homemade cake cooling somewhere just out of sight.

The Heart Behind the Work

I believe in:

  • Slowness as a form of rebellion

  • Ritual as a way of anchoring ourselves

  • Paper as a keeper of memory

  • Storytelling as a kind of hearth fire

  • Beauty as something that doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful

My work blends all of these things , a little whimsy, a little wisdom, a little cottage mischief  into offerings that feel warm, human, and deeply intentional.

Characters in My Story

Every cottage needs its cast of characters.

  • My husband wanders in and out of the narrative like a steady, grounding presence the quiet heartbeat of our home.

  • Teazel the beagle is the cottage’s chief rascal, muse, and occasional chaos agent. She appears in many stories because she insists on it.

  • Courtney, ( not her real name ) is my lifelong friend and keeper of countdowns, nudges, and inside jokes. She’s woven into the fabric of this brand the way old friends always are.

A Gentle Invitation

If your heart is leaning closer, you’re welcome to wander further into the cottage. The Snail Mail Club is where all of this warmth gathers itself into a monthly envelope of stories, recipes, paper treasures, and a little bit of cottage magic sent straight to your door.
